Happy October to all of you! It is time to start thinking about Halloween costumes, carving pumpkins, and trick or treating. As a big lover of all things Halloween, I am looking forward to trying to find the perfect costume.
Speaking of costumes, I have a decent sized stack of comics this week. Here is the skinny!
Countdown #30
Countdown: The Search for Ray Palmer- Crime Society #1
Detective Comics #837
Green Lantern Corps #16
JLA Hitman #2 (of 2) - pictured
Nightwing #137
Supergirl #22
Welcome to Tranquility #11
Bomb Queen IV #2 (of 4)
Ms Marvel #20
Uncanny X-Men #491
That is the damage this week, folks. I may pick up the Wolverine Annual on the fly, but I am not sure yet.
What are you getting this week?

Heidi-
Oh, yeah....things are definitely looking like Halloween over on my blog. In fact, I've got a new "Comic Book Life Lessons" up (which I know you've gotten a kick out of before).
Geez...is it Wednesday tomorrow already? Here's what I've got cooking:
1. Countdown: Crime Society. Yeah, I didn't think I'd jump back onto the Countdown bus, but as you know, I can't resist an Opposite Number story. I picked up last week's issue of Countdown featuring the "Crime Society" (evil doppelgangers of the JSA), so I'm in for at least the first issue of this mini-series.
2. Green Lantern Corps #16: The Sinestro Corps is the best story in AGES. So far, it's been perfect...which worries me a bit. I'm not used to such sustained, top-notch storytelling! Can they pull it off? Here's hoping!
3. Supergirl #22: Enjoying it primarily for the Guedes artwork. I hope DC keeps this guy busy.
4. Action Comics: Part Two of Bizarro's World, with the great Eric Powell on art! WooHoo!
5. Tales of the Sinestro Corps-Cyborg Superman: There's no reason to think this won't be as good as all the other Sinestro Corps stuff. They've done a great job of breathing new life into the Cyborg character, who was horribly overused through the 1990's. I'm looking forward to the next tie-in featuring SuperMAN Prime (legal issues forced them to remove the SuperBOY tag).
Aaaand nothing from Marvel.
I looked up the Wolverine annual on Marvel's website - sounds interesting, might have to check it out myself. Written by Gregg Hurwitz, a best selling crime writer apparently who also writes Foolkiller - another Max title I've wanted to check out.
Any chance you read the Punisher annual the other week? What'd you think? I thought it was a decent attempt that came up a bit short, but I liked the art though. If this guy is going to take over the Punisher title at some point, it could be interesting as he seems to have the crime angle down, but the Jury's still out on if he can write the Punisher himself. Have to wait and see and enjoy Ennis' writing as long as I can :)
Good luck on your costume search!
Mark, I am going to head over and check out your blog- it sounds killer!
You have some excellent books coming in this week- I like your take on them! I will have to stay tuned in to hear your reactions. I am especially interested in what you think of the Crime Society one-shot. I think the Search for Ray Palmer books could be interesting because there isn't the constraints on an Elseworlds scenario like there might be otherwise.
I love your "and no Marvel" comment too! I had such a small amount that I was surprised. It doesn't look like it is going to pick up for me either. Crazy.
Eaglewing, thank you for the heads up on Wolverine annual. I hadn't heard very much about it, so I was pretty worried. I will make sure and page it at the store and will probably end up bringing it home.
As for Punisher, I haven't read it yet. My pile of last week's books is sitting there looking sad from lack of being read. It is not a good thing! I appreciate your opinion, because if this guy is taking over, he has a hard act to follow and it sounds like he falls a bit short.
The costume... I don't have a clue yet. Sooner then later I will probably be begging for ideas here on the ole' site!
