Because of the five Wednesdays this month, I haven't seen comics for quite awhile. My DCBS order is shipping today and I will have it Tuesday. That is over three weeks since we have received an order. Jim and I are well past ready to get our shipment.
A major bummer is that many folks have posted about Action Comics #870 with NO SPOILER WARNINGS!! Dammit. Even though it was pretty apparent what was going to happen, it would have been nice to check out the issue with no preconceived notions. Now I just want to burn the issue, gorgeous Gary Frank art and all. Please all you bloggers out there- post spoiler warnings. I am trying to avoid checking out too many sites because of this problem, and now I am too nervous to go surfing around the blogoverse. Those of us that get our books mail order need some love too!
In celebrity news, Madonna and Guy Ritchie are getting a divorce. Wow. Shock. NOT! I am really tired of celebrity news getting more airplay on CNN then the issues that really matter, like our recession.
Can you tell I am unhappy tonight? Sorry. I just can't help it. My normal upbeat attitude is having problems due to being tired, not feeling great yet, and getting my comics spoiled for me before I can read them!
I hope you all are doing better! See you here soon!

I feel the same way when I read spoilers. The worst wait was when the dark knight and iron man came out and I pretty much had to refuse to go on the internet for a few weeks.
I admit I'm guilty, I forget to mark spoiler warnings all the time. I will endeavour to do so in future.
I don't mind spoilers so much, but it is one of the reasons why I (mostly) post about older comics. There are plenty of people out there posting about the new stuff, so I'd rather use my own blog to explore history.
One of the guys that used to hang out at the shop was named Bryan. He picked up the nickname, "The Spoiler" 'cause he also worked part-time at the shop and would read the books asap when they came in. And of course, he would blow books for people until we started to smack him upside the head or kick him in the buttocks when he did. But finally one of the guys got him, his favorite character of all time was Blue Beetle/Ted Kord. So, you can guess what happened, he didn't get to see that fateful issue of Countdown first and got a very large taste of his own spoilage...
But, on the other hand, I haven't been reading Action Comics for a while and when ahead and looked. I am highly disappointed with DC for this and I imagine the issue will be impossible to get now, days later. That really irks me 'cause I feel, speculators make it impossible to actually read the damned thing if you even wanted to, short of buying at outrageous gauging, waiting for a reprint or collection or downloading off the net I guess. Really annoying all around...
I really don't mind spoilers. If the issue is good, then it's still a good read. I'll even flip through my stack before reading single issues, just to see what goes down.
I guess it just doesn't bother me so much.
