The art pictured here is a print that artist Ben Hansen was selling at the QEW Publishing booth. I was impressed at Ben's take on this classic pose. Rather then making Supergirl look overly chesty or too naughty, Ben has brought a bit of class with his subtle touches.
Ben Hansen has his own series, Dark Powers, which will be published through Angel Gate Press as part of the Dark Angel line. With this beautiful piece as a preview, it really makes me look forward to seeing a lot more of his work in the future.

I think that the current Supergirl could use a lot of subtlty.
This character lacks it; it was found im every other version of Supergirl.
Chris- that is why I really liked this piece- I thought it was much more subtle then the present Supergirl. This really reminded me of the Supergirl from Superman Family.
I think Ben did an amazing job.
Your comments make me think about a character I created a long time ago, I asked the artist to make one of the female characters in the series look normal...you know no parts of the body that appeared too big than the rest, I just wanted a normal looking woman. Of course the art came back with a woman with a pair of giant...well, you can probably fill in the rest.
John- you poor guy! That just figures! What ended up happening to your character?
It was actually published in Fantagraphics' CRITTERS years ago. (God, sometimes I feel so old.) My characters were walking lizards but still human. The art was great, except the artist had certain things he liked to draw. It lasted for a few years, even did an one shot issue of it from Caliber, but than it kind of died with the collapse of the black and white boom.
John, I have got to track that comic book down! It sounds really cool. Fantagraphics is opening a store in Seattle this weekend- I wonder if they might have it?
The premise of the book sounds very interesting. I am sad to hear that it went away.
