Analyzing Wonder Woman's Lateness: Set Your Bets!

Wonder Woman 4

Wonder Woman #2 just came out this week, and according to DC's website, issue 3 is set for September 27 and issue 4 is set for October 11. There were no solicitations for November. What does this mean for the lateness of the book?

In now understanding that writer Allan Heinberg will be on the book until issue 6, it seems safe to say that his portion of the run will not be over before Christmas, and may indeed be pushing Spring 2007. With author Jodi Picoult set to take over at issue 7, what does this mean for the future of the book in terms of sales and in terms of shipping dates?

I understand that Heinberg is very busy, and artist Terry Dodson has mentioned that Heinberg is also a perfectionist. This leads me to believe that while Dodson is keeping pace on the art chores, it is editorial and writer corrections that are causing the stall.

I say ENOUGH ALREADY. Quit with the perfectionism and tinkering, and put the product in the readers hands. Please. See, I said please!!

My bets run like this:

Issue 3: okay for October 27
Issue 4: week of December 7-10
Issue 5: The end of January
Issue 5: First week of March

We shall see how close I run on this. If I am wrong and the book comes out sooner, I will be contrite and pleased.

What do you think?

I will bet the 6 story arc will be over before Marvel's Civil War is finished. I haven't got WW#2 since I was broke till Friday payday and didn't make it in. I do have a copy saved of course. So far, I have to say I'm finding outside of some of 52 and the Batman books "One Year Lamer" is continuing for me...

I think we won't see #6 till April, whiich will be 10 months for 6 issues. The real question: Which finishes first - Heinberg's WW, Civil War, or Ultimates 2?

The idea of making a bet on which finishes first: Civil War or Heinberg's run on WW makes for an intriguing idea.

I say Civil War still.

Ultimates 2: I have completely given up.

Any bet takers?

But like the tree that fell in the forest when no one is around, does it matter when it comes out if I've dropped the book already?

(Not yet. One more issue to see. Gosh, I'm a sucker.)

Bully, I feel your pain. I am a sucker too, otherwise I would have dropped it.

Unfortunately, I own over 40 years of continuous issues, so I can't make myself! It is agony!

I do like that theory of yours - very zen!
