Today was a good day. I discovered Terry Moore's blog. As a fan of his book Strangers in Paradise, I was very curious about what he had to say. I cried a bit when I found out that he has finished work on the book and that he is sending it to the printers. Having it be the last issue of a series that has been so close to his and his fan's hearts has got to be gut wrenching. I know that I will miss Katchoo, Francine and company very much.
Then I got to this sketch of Katchoo as Power Girl and I laughed my ass off. Terry Moore is an evil genius. I wish there were more like him out there.

I read the first three books, and liked it OK but it just felt like he was ripping off Love and Rockets...
Another (male) friend of mine totally flipped out for SIP. It was hilarious watching our mutual fanboy acquaintances scratching their heads ‘cause they couldn’t figure out why my friend would read a comic without spandex.
Swinebread, I have never read Love and Rockets so maybe at the next show I go to I should try and pick some up! Thanks for the reference there.
Awesome story about your friend too! I see the same reaction at my local shop and it makes me shake my head. "These chicks are into each other but they don't show the deed". Well, hmmm... it isn't that kind of a book!! :-)

Well, when I say ripping off love and rockets it’s pretty much the Maggie and Hopey storyline Las Locas that I’m talking about. It pretty much paved they way for books like SIP. The Palomar/Luba stories are really good too. It’ been going on for a long time since the early 80s. I can’t think of the 80s or punk rock without thinking about L&R.
