Killer Video of the Week: The Cult - Sweet Soul Sister

As a palate cleanser, I wanted to share one of my favorite songs from The Cult. I have never considered them to be metal to the core as I think there is a touch of funk and edge that makes them very unique. Sweet Soul Sister has that nasty groove on the downbeat that makes me want to get up and rock out while having a brewski. I can't help it- the song is kick ass.

Enjoy and let me know what you think of The Cult!

Yeah, The Cult kicks ass. I've never classified them as metal but they rock hard.

"Fire Woman" is one of those songs that just runs through my head every now and then.

Meh on the Southern Death Cult stuff; LOVED Love, liked Electric, esp. "Wild Flower"; and have been kinda indiffrerent to everything since...

Cool. I've heard of these guys but this is my first real exposure. This song may not be from the family of heavier metals, but it's really cool. Very upbeat & fun!

Vaklam, I am the same in that I have never been able to classify them as purely metal. I just love their groove. It is kinda like Lenny Kravitz in a way. He rocks hard at times, bringing in Slash to play guitar and at other times he is purely funky. The Cult is very tough to classify.

BTW, "Fire Woman" is one of my all time favorite tunes. Just incredible.

Lisa, thank you! That was what I was hoping. I love this song!

Johnny B- It also depends on the song for me. Electric is my favorite album as a whole to be sure. I played the cassette until I had to replace it. :-)

Foolio, I am happy to hear you liked this. The Cult is a killer band. If you liked this, you would like "Fire Woman" also. It rules!
