The Dreaded Picture!! Before and After

Before and After
Originally uploaded by Heidi Meeley.

I promised that I would put up my "Get In Shape" before and after pictures, so here is the side profile. The picture on the left was taken on January 20, and the after picture on the right was taken on April 13.

I can tell that my lovely hysterectomy wrecked my addomen area in the before picture. My poor old belly is just absolutely hanging out. At least now, I have gotten back some decent tone, which I am thankful for.

I still have about 20 pounds to go, but I am really happy with my results so far.

P.S. I am slightly mortified that I actually posted these. I guess I wanted to show that anybody can lose weight if they try, even after major surgery!

Wait, are you shorter in the 2nd picture? Ho ho, just kidding! Welp, I think you look great! I think a good nick for you would be "Iron Woman" 'cause I sure wouldn't have the courage to show any picture of me like that period! Mine, once again, is "Body By Hershey", alas and alack...

Congrats on your hard work. Your persistence and dedication has paid off. You have set a great example for all the rest of us comic book reading slug.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it! It was definitely a journey for me, and a tough one at that.

Seeing the results in the pictures help me to keep going, knowing that it is a lot easier to lose 20 lbs instead of the 40 I started with.

Thank you again! I hope I didn't embarass myself too much and alienate anyone from coming back!!

Take care!

It is awesome that you posted the pictures - and WOW - what a difference. You should be very proud of the progress. The whole weight-loss thing is such a pain sometimes. I am post-babies and HATE the whole getting-back-into-shape thing.

Thank you so much! Being post-baby, which is way more challenging then post-hysterectomy, I feel for you. It is hard work to lose the weight, and working out isn't exactly my choose of recreation either. I kind of figure that if it was easy, the word "work" wouldn't be included in workout.

I got on the treadmill tonight, and it was hard. What got me there was looking at my pictures and realizing how far I have come, and the fact that I want to continue.

Thank you again for the kind remarks. I really appreciate it, and us ladies have to stick together!

All I know is the progress is telling and you are probably in better shape than most people, statistically speaking.

Thank you so much! I have been having a tough time dieting in this hot weather now, but working out is a fact of life for the rest of my life. Some weeks are better then others, but I try and work at it.

Thank you again!
