The Line I Thought I Would Never See

**Spoiler Alert**

**Spoiler ahead**

I sat down tonight to read Countdown to Final Crisis #15 and got to the part where Donna Troy battles Earth 51's Wonder Girl. It seemed like a pretty good fight and then Wonder Girl badgered Donna until she couldn't take it anymore.

This is what Donna said:

"I'm Donna Troy, Bitch.

Donna.

Troy."

Then she kicked said Wonder Girl's ass. I couldn't help myself. I cheered. Whew!

I kid you not. Then I almost fainted. I didn't know that the magic twin sister of Wonder Woman talked like that. She must have watched some Dave Chapelle DVD's on her downtime.

Incredible.

My only question now is this. Did Paul Dini or Tony Bedard write this?

I have to go lay down now.

Taking a cue from Juggernaut, is she? ;-) I like when characters take the short road in a fight - why stop for some long monologue? State your point and kick ass!

That's actually kind of depressing....but then again, I'm pretty "old school" when it comes to comic book banter.

Now aren't you glad you stuck with Countdown after all?

I don't think it was really in character, but even nice, nurturing people like Donna have their breaking point. I loved it. It was good way to show how confident Donna is and all the angst over her identity and origin, etc, is gone. At least for that scene.

Eaglewing, that is right! I had forgotten that! Nice.

Mark, you make a good point I hadn't considered. If kids are reading Countdown, that isn't what we want them to see. It is also a bit racy. I didn't even think about that! It is okay not to dig it. That is why variety rules the world. :-)

Lisa, yes I am. After several depressing weeks, this lifted my spirits to say the least!

Shelly, I also felt like it showed a new found strength that Donna had found. She wasn't just a magic duplicate of Diana or some retconned mess. She was Donna Troy and she knew it. I was pretty pleased about that.

I'm saddened that this is yet another Wonder Girl comic I cannot submit to my nieces for approval.

Too much sour language makes comics fine for me, but horrible for spreading the hobby to children, least that I do not wish to see them accumulate my bad habits, including my propensity for profanity.
