Am I the only person that thought the new "Thunderbolts" were too similar to the Suicide Squad for comfort?? This would be issue #110, and I am running a few days late, so I hope I am not spoiling anything.
Just curious...

Whoa! That is exactally what my gentle giant friend Eugene said last Wednesday! And you should have seen the Marvel Zombie leap higher then The Yearling to defend that POV. Unfortunately, when we had to remind them that the Suicide Squad was first in the '50s and then later used villains as cannon fodder in the '80s, the sputtering would have covered anyone that wore glasses lens completely over! Too funny! I'm starting to believe that if Marvel put out tomorrow a new group called The Teen Justice Legion Outsider Corps that MZs would rush forward to the breach to defend it...
If Civil War has proven anything to me, Carl, it's that "MZs" will defend ANYTHING with the Marvel brand on, no matter how bad it is.
If Marvel started using toxic waste in the printing ink, "MZs" would likely defend them saying they were being "environmentally friendly and helping conserve energy costs", when the comics glowed in the dark from the process. LOL! ;)
It's totally a rip-off of Suicide Squad with some of Gail Simone's Secret Six mixed in.
Originality aside, however, Warren Ellis had some evil fun with the Millar concept.
The portrayal of 24-hour news media as rooting section and the Thunderbolt toy commercial were hilarious.
I'll hang around for a few issues and see how it plays out.
James, the scariest thing I have ever seen in this group is that they actually defend "The Clone Saga". I mean, tooth and nail. We have at least 4 or 5 guys that love it and Ben Parker to death and say it was one of the greatest stories in Spider-Man. I myself, having given up originally on Spider-Man after Aunt May 'died' a 4th time while I was collecting, never read it. But most true-blue hardcore Spider-Man fans gag when they hear the name. Not these MZs, it's an orgy of remembrance and joy. I asked the Comics Answer Man (Eugene) to give me a Reader Digest on it. I couldn't swallow it, nuh-uh, even told in a calm logic synopsis by G, I couldn't believe it for one second, it seemed more like, we really screwed up the story beyond repair and need an out like Dallas did in the "Dream Season". Unbelievable...
Oops, that's Ben Reilly of course...
