I had so much to say about DC's previews for April earlier this week that I didn't get to mention the non-reading material item I loved most.
As you will see, DC is soliciting a Donna Troy mini-bust for their Women of the DCU series. This is one of those items I would really like to own. Donna is a favorite of mine, and it has been rare in the past to be able to get many items that feature her. To see an action figure solicited a few months ago and now have the opportunity to get a bust is unheard of.
I have the Wonder Woman and Power Girl mini-busts from this series, which is based on designs by Adam Hughes. I am not real fond of the the Wonder Woman final product, because it was smaller and less detailed then I hoped. The Power Girl bust came out much better because it is more of an action pose. Looking at this bust, there is a bit more to it because of the lasso, so I am hoping for the best.
I really can't afford it, so I will probably just drool a bit and really wish for it, but it is nice to dream.
Specifications on the Donna Troy mini-bust are as follows:
"WOMEN OF THE DC UNIVERSE: DONNA TROY BUST
Designed by Adam Hughes
Sculpted by Jack Mathews
Donna Troy continues the amazing line of Women of the DC Universe busts designed by award-winning illustrator Adam Hughes. This limited-edition, hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain busts measures approximately 5.5" tall x 3" wide x 2" deep and is packaged in a four-color box.

"Is this a bust?"-- Woman suspect
'Yes, it's very impressive."

Yeah, I like this one better too, bigger, ummm, I mean, like you said, more of an action pose. The Wonder Woman was nice, but tiny, like a Pez dispenser like someone said. I really like that version of her costume too, really colorful and striking. Though usually I don't like statues unless they are the whole thing and not a bust...
Carl, I have been waiting for a comment like that! Too funny.
I agree with your observations on that bust. It looks very colorful indeed.
Like I said, I would like to pick it up, but I don't have the fundage, so I will just dream.
Take care!
This doesn't actually look like any version of Donna Troy I've ever seen in the comics. However, it bears a striking resemblance to the actress Mary Steenburgen!
RAB- I hadn't thought of it, but now that you mention it, she does. Hmmm.. I don't know whether that is good or bad.
