Checking In... But Not Seeing Ghost Rider

Well, it is bummer time here at Comics Fairplay. Jim and I tried to go see Ghost Rider today and the show was sold out. Our crappy local movie theatre only put the movie on one screen, and then they put it in the oldest theatre. Because tomorrow is a holiday, evidently everyone decided to go see it.

I don't have tomorrow off so we won't see it until this weekend. Sigh.

The good news is that because we didn't go see Ghost Rider, I was able to do a few reviews, featured below. I got to read some comics and pay bills, which was not as much fun. It's got to be done, right?

My biggest irritation right now is DC pushing back the end of the Allan Heinberg Wonder Woman story in issue #5 and having a fill in. I get so pissed thinking about it that I am trying not to. Right now I think that Heinberg and DC suck big time. Not very eloquent, but that it the honest truth.

Have a wonderful Monday off if you have it. I am jealous, but pleased for you! Take care!

I worked Friday and my family and I all have colds. Then Sat, I attended Megacon, just one day for a change instead of the whole 4 day set-up and help out at the RMC Booth for a change. I had a pretty good time, though I only got Darwin Cooke's autograph since all the other lines were insane. And now, in the middle of my cold, I have to work tonight, thank God I am part time, I would die if I had to do 8 or more hours like seasonal work was. So, no Ghost Rider for me until we get over our colds and get the time free...

We decided to buy a home gym - found a GREAT deal at Sam's Club. So we spent the entire weekend trying to assemble the beast and didn't have time to see Ghost Rider or even watch much TV. But, like you, the movie is only playing on one screen at the theater we like, so it was probably sold out anyway.

One good thing about DC - they ARE going to get some WW issues out. No thanks to Heinberg, of course. But they really and truly are trying to keep the floppies coming out, even if it means taking writers or artists off of the book temporarily. I prefer that to Marvel's decision to let books run so very late in order to maintain the quality of the trade.

John, I hope your day wasn't too hectic! Mine was alright, except last night I didn't sleep too well- weird dreams and such. Bizarre.

At any rate, it was just fine and dandy!

Swinebread- I went over there, and your post was excellent. I am hoping to do an official post to link it in the next day or so! Thank you for letting me know!

Carl, I am glad you were able to trek over to Megacon. I know what you mean about lines- last year at Emerald City I just said "screw it" and didn't bother. My hubby was much more industrious and got several great sketches.

I hope you feel better soon and don't work too hard! Ghost Rider will be there for awhile..

Lisa, congrats on the new home gym! It sounds fantastic, though I don't envy you the set up work! Wow.

Keep me posted on how that goes, and I will check your blog as well..

I figure Ghost Rider will still be there this next weekend, so I am not too worried. I am claustrophobic so full theatres are like a nightmare for me. Waiting is probably a better idea, though I really want to see it!!

Take care!

Thank you Mark! You and my husband are both loving this book, so that really sells me. I may have to grab it later if money allows, or just steal a gander at my husband's book.

Thank you for the link!
