New Comics for February 21

Well heck. I wanted to use an image, but my flickr account is telling me it is "having a massage" so that is out the window. Maybe tomorrow I can post a picture or two.

The list for this week is larger then I would like, so I am trying to pare it down to less. Some of the books I am opting not to get may be controversial to you, and I don't mind hearing about it. Unfortunately, it is down to a choice of good or better, so there are some quality books I am not able to get.

Let's get to the list of what I am picking up...

52 Week 42
Birds of Prey #103
Catwoman #64
Checkmate #11
Helmet of Fate Black Alice #1
Ion #11 (of 12)
Wonder Woman #4
Girls #22
Invincible #39
Hellstorm Son of Satan #5 (of 5)
Immortal Iron Fist #3
Powers #23
She-Hulk 2 #16
Silent War #2 (of 6)

On my maybe or dropped list
Brave and Bold #1 - this will depend on if I can't overcome my George Perez art lust.
Hellblazer #229- I think it is the start of a new arc, so it is a perfect dropping point
Robin #159- I like this book, so I am really torn.
Shadowpact #10- same thing, I like the book, but I like Checkmate better. Choices, choices.
Superman #659- This one is actually a pretty easy choice because of irregular shipping.
Punisher War Journal #4- I am really on the fence about this book. I like it but I also like She-Hulk. If the "agent of shield" arc there leaves me cold, I will get this book instead.

In related news, Civil War #7 and Amazing Spider-Man #528 are coming out this week, so we should find out if it is Mary Jane or Aunt May or both who dies... hmmmm. Crap, I hope I haven't spoiled any speculation- not my intention.

That's it for tonight! I have to go cook some protein before it gets too late to eat. Have a great night!

Sad, but true. I wish I could send your comments on to DC Comics....who continue with the lame outlook that "good things take time"....while their sales and the good buzz they initially cooked up for Superman slowly diminishes.

We just can't seem to get through to these guys.

As for Brave and the Bold, I would urge you to give it a shot. My enthusiasm for Mark Waid's writing has taken a serious hit over the past several years, but my love for Perez's art is undiminished. C'mon...do it for that Big Old Teddy Bear of an artist.

As long as you don't drop She-Hulk... gulp!

Oh, she loves She-Hulk. That;s one the last marvel books she would ever think about dropping, trust me. ;)

Girls is close to an end and 52; 2 series I really enjoy but that will cut my list. What will replace them? Slott will be on the Avengers soon. She-Hulk hasn't been so zesty these days, maybe it's the burden of the heavy Civil War. Maybe I'll see Dan at NYCC and ask him...

Mark, Superman being dropped wasn't a stretch, unfortunately. It was an easy decision.

Brave and Bold- I really would like to get it, so if money allows, I am in there. I think Waid and Perez are a fun combination. Cross your fingers for me!

She-Hulk's bitch- I love the name, by the way. You rule!

Nah, I love Shulkie way too much. It is hard to even consider dropping her. I will give my husband sad eyes so I can pick her book up. Heh. :-)

Redlib- I am a bit sad that Girls is ending, but also a bit relieved from a financial angle. As for 52, it sounds like there is a new series coming behind it, so I don't know what to think.

Like you, I am hoping Shulkie gets back to her core and away from Civil War after the event is over. Definitely ask Dan for me as well!
