This week my hubby and I went and picked up this month's Wizard Magazine. We both usually page through it with great humor and a grain of salt. Unfortunately, once again I had to be very disapointed.
Rob Liefeld is number 8 on the list of top ten artists.
What the hell is that all about?
Does Wizard have an under-the-table arrangement with the perpetually late Levi's poster boy?? Does some random fanboy get free sketches to put him on there?
After reading that Liefeld is running late on his Onslaught Reborn mini-series, it seems odd to see him laden with praise of that merit. Not that Wizard's list isn't one big bunch of bulls**t anyway, but this is the final nail in the coffin.
Wizard is officially a big fat joke to me now.
Until there is new management in place and the magazine gets decent again, I am done. Join with me to boycott this piece of crap until there is a new system in place.

You called it again sister. Liefield- #8- please! Wizard is like the Emmys who only seem to remember to give one to the Monk guy and are unaware of anything new.
Just when you think Wizard couldn't sink any lower....they dig a new basement.
Simply astonishing.
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I rake Lil' Rob over the coals in one of my "Worst. Cover. Ever." features.
I've been boycotting Wizard for years now. They only focus on the same creators over and over and over....
It's all flash and no substance.
(Kind of like a lot of the comics that the creators they like to cover create..hmmmm)
Redlib- I love your analogy! That is too awesome. I am definitely not buying Wizard anymore. It is crappy, flat and simple!
Thank you!
Mark, too true.
Thank you for the link! I always appreciate a righteous Liefeld raking.
John, I wish I could say I had been boycotting Wizard as well. What a bunch of tripe. I can't spend my hard earned money on a corporate conspiracy.
Yikes.
I believe I have actually bought Wizard maybe 3 times. I enjoyed the parodies and cartoons and such, but when they got serious and were supposed to be 'authorities' on anything, it was like a stockbroker that only sold you stock that made *them* money, not you. I've always found them to be a perfect example of a bad example in the comic world. And Liefield? Well, when your 'art' comes up in "Modivational" poster parodies, you have to know that is very, very bad...
Carl, your foresight put you way ahead of me. Smart man!
