Happy Wednesday! It was a good day at the local comic book shop, as all the books arrived in a timely fashion. Fanboys and Fangirls alike rejoiced and high-fived, calling the day a success. Heh.
I haven't link-blogged for over a week, and I wanted to recognize some of my fellow bloggers for their incredible insights. I love to go visit other sites and see what is going on, and I usually learn a thing or two.
Lisa at Sequentially Speaking has come up with an amazing concept called POWER in Comics. Head over there and take a look. I am really impressed and hope to be able to help in some way.
Mark at Comic Coverage has another chapter of "All I Need to Know I Learned From Comic Books". It is good stuff. I continue to enjoy Mark's wicked sense of humor and sharp wit.
Over at Ye Olde Comick Book Blog, you have got to see it to believe it. Spoiler alert: do not check it out if you are at work. The boys have taken a Marvel cover and, well, altered it a bit. I will reserve comment and let you form your own opinion!
A belated congratulations to Redhead Fangirl on her blogoversary! I am crossing my fingers for many more great years to come! Go check out one of my favorite female bloggers!
I got a good chuckle out of "Weird-ass Cover Wednesday" over at Noetic Concordance. I appreciate you, Vaklam!
Last but not least, my hubby takes a look at weddings gone wrong in his "wedding bell blues" week cover featurette.
That's it for me tonight. I bought the new Anita Blake novel "The Harlequin" by Laurell K. Hamilton last night and am eager to finish reading it. I read about half of it last night and had to force myself to go to bed instead of reading too late!
Have a wonderful evening!

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the freaky Richie Rich covers. I found a couple more I'm going to post some time tomorrow.
I'm not sure if this will become a regular feature but there so much weird crap out there that I won't be hurting for resources.
Just so everyone knows, there will be more additions to "Wedding Bell Bules Week" at Cover-By-Cover on Thursday. So, make sure you stop back later in the week to see them all.
Thanks for the link, Heidi! As always, much appreciated.
Hey, James! Good to see another chronicler of comic covers! You found some great wedding covers. I took a look at comic book weddings myself, and it's certainly a rich topic for discussion and/or parody.
Just like marriage itself, come to think of it!
OUCH!
(sorry, Dear....)
Thanks again for the link Heidi. I'm excited that my concept has been so well received so far!
Great link roundup, and not just because you include me!
Mark: Glad you enjoyed this week's theme. I also hope you checked out some of the past themes, as well. Just wait, though, as over the next couple weeks I have some really fun ones coming. I think you'll like them a lot. :)
Thank all of you for the kinds words as well. I love going to your sites, and it continues to amaze and inspire me!
How is the new Laura Hamilton? I used to be a big fan, I bought all her early books and have read everything up to the last one. I've just found that her new books ignore plot and character development so they can feature Anita having sex with just about anything that walks. In the earlier books the sex scenes added to the story, I've just found in the later books that the books seemed to exist for the sex scenes. It was a shame too, I really enjoyed her book and the character of Anita.
I finished The Boys out to issue #7 and caught up. I half-enjoyed it, half disliked it. It's like.... I don't know, another cynical view that if human beings get powers instead of being like the JSA or JLA, they are a bunch of blanking uncaring and abusive and degenerate blankholes. What I like to call "The Clinton Factor", as you get more power, the more of a rat bastid you become. And yet, somehow, Ennis tries to balance the brutal Butcher smirk and arrogance by telling why he is doing this. I liked it, but kind am weary of this constant view of heroes this way, especially from pretty much the same people over and over again, the Ennis, Moore and Millar crowd. Why bother with super heroes and super villains and the concepts of good and evil if there is pretty much no difference to some of these writers? I want to read the rest but it's no Preacher or Hitman...
Carl, I feel your ambivilence on this one. One of the things I liked most about Hitman was the complete and total irreverence. This is in such a similar vein, that it is a bit jarring at times. I just look at it this way: what I am reading by Ennis, including Punisher, just flat works for me.
It is insanely tough to think that he will every top Preacher, but one never knows.
