I know that convention season is winding down, and several of you may be experiencing a bit of burn out, but consider this if you will. Next year, the Emerald City Comicon will be held May 10 and 11, 2008 in fabulous Seattle, Washington. Jim and I would love to see you there, and it is still plenty early to start saving money and making plans. If you haven't been out West for awhile, or are just wanting to have a smaller con experience with all the flavor of a big show, this is the show for you.
Here is the official press release:
"The Emerald City ComiCon has officially announced its initial guest list for its Sixth Annual show taking place May 10th & 11th, 2008 in Seattle, Washington.
The line-up currently includes comics superstars such as J. Michael Straczynski (Thor), Ethan Van Sciver (Sinestro Corps), David Finch (New Avengers), Andy Runton (Owly), Humberto Ramos (Uncanny X-Men), Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Phil Jimenez (Infinite Crisis), Jeffrey Brown (Be A Man), Jim Cheung (New Avengers: Illuminati), Jimmy Palmiotti (Countdown), Amanda Conner (The Pro), Ryan Ottley (Invincible), Richard Starkings & Justin "Moritat" Norman (Elephantmen), Brom (The Devil’s Rose), Aaron Williams (Nodwick), Jamal Igle (Teen Titans), and Skottie Young (New X-Men).
"This list is just the tip of the iceberg," says Organizer Jim Demonakos. "The Emerald City ComiCon has become a favorite among fans and professionals alike and we are committed to bringing everyone the best comic book show we can. 2008 is shaping up to be our best show yet and coming off our immensely successful 2007 show, that’s saying a lot."
Additional guests and much more will be announced in the coming weeks and months. You can check the Emerald City ComiCon website (http://www.emeraldcitycomicon.com) for more information and updates, plus sign up for the free ECCC e-mail newsletter while you’re there.
The Sixth Annual Emerald City ComiCon takes place at the Washington State Convention & Trade Center in beautiful downtown Seattle, Washington on May 10th & 11th, 2008."
Something to consider for next year, right? It is truly a great experience that I highly recommend.
