Garth Ennis Makes Maxim!

Hey there, I was just reading the new January 2005 issue of Maxim magazine with Eva Longoria on the cover. On page 61, there is a kick ass interview with Garth Ennis. It is titled "The Man Behind The Skull", and is pretty funny.

Evidently they interviewed him to coincide with the release of the new Punisher video game which received high marks from Maxim.

Give it a look if you get a chance. As a female Maxim reader, I can say that I find the magazine much more interesting then the schlock I read in Cosmo! You can't beat an interview with Ennis- you know we would never find that in a chick's magazine. Grant Morrison maybe (in his underpants), Ennis, no way!

Take care all!

I got to see him back in ummmmmm, 2001 or 2002? At Megacon in Orlando. He was really funny and signed all my stuff (and I had a shameful pile but I was afraid I wouldn't see him again) and I told him how glad he was writting the Punisher (which I believe was in the first new mini-series, the 12 issue). I said, man, so glad you are getting him right. He said, thick Irish accent, "W'alll, 'e's a big angry bloke wit' a big gun... How can you mess tha' up?" I did see him later at the booth with Amanda Connor and Jimmy Palmiotti and he dropped by to say he was stepping out for a bit for a brew, ha ha...

You are a better person then I, Carl. I am thoroughly convinced that if I met Garth Ennis I would be a total idiot and babble. I just love the man's stuff, especially Preacher and Punisher. Together with Steve Dillon, there has been genius created.

Your story gives me goose bumps. The accent would have done me in after about two seconds, but of course I am a typical chick. Hee hee!

Take care!

Welp, I am getting a bit jaded at times. Though when I got to see Alison Mack (Chloe from Smallville as you surely know) at Megacon last March, I kind of lost it a bit. I was deadly sick too but I got up at 6am, I was not missing my tickets to see Chloe!!! And I got to tell her, even though I'm old enough to be her dad's age probably, when she smiles, she melts my heart. She said, oh, that's so sweet! And I got a picture with here and you can see it here:

I also got to say that I let out a scream when Clark attacked her with a truck in one episode. So, you can imagine my horror (my bride leapt up from the pc to see if I was being murdered) when she was "killed" last season...

My hubby feels the same way. She is one of the best reasons to watch Smallville! I love how she stirs stuff up, but maintains that innocent look at the same time. Too cool!

Some time soon I will have to finally do my post about meeting creators - the best and the worst!

Your picture is awesome!
