Now Coming Your Way... An Obvious Homage!

Justice Society of America #13 is being solicited for February 2008 and when I saw the Alex Ross cover, I immediately knew where it's inspiration came from.

Normally I am bit leery of a cover homage, but this one bats it out of the park for me as it brings back fond memories. Thanks to Newsarama for the preview image.

great art, and nice homage, but I like those facial expressions on the original.

Ahhh....good ol' floating heads! I love 'em!

Wow....you really caused my pulse to race when I saw that JSA preview cover. Stuff like that is just made to order for me. I love the JSA, but anytime I can get me some "alternate Superman meeting each other", I'm there.

It's fascinating to see how the Kingdom Come Superman may become a sort of "replacement Earth-2 Superman". If that's the case, I certainly wouldn't mind. I miss Superman having an older mentor figure. However, with "Final Crisis" steamrolling toward us, it's hard to say how much of anything we see these days is going to stick or make it out of the big HooHah.

Eaglewing, I was really eager to buy this issue based on the cover as it reminded me of the original issue that I loved so much. I do agree that the original had better expressions- it definitely gives away George Perez as the artist. :-)

Mark, what you said! I am also interested to see how the Kingdom Come Superman fits into that Earth-2 niche. Power Girl's reaction is key here to me. I am thrilled about the whole thing- it makes me wish February would get here a bit quicker!

Thank you for the link, BTW. Very cool!!
